Objective of PM Internship Scheme

The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) aims to give internship opportunities to one crore youngsters, aged 21 to 24 in renowned enterprises, providing practical experience and skill expansion with an emphasis on those who are not presently enrolled in full-time study or work.

Benefits

• The scheme will offer candidates monthly support, and interns would get around 5,000 rupees over the course of a year.
• The government will provide each intern with a one-time incidentals award of 6,000 rupees through direct benefit transfer as soon as they start their internship.
• In accordance with current regulations, the firm would use its CSR money to pay for the interns’ training under this program.
• According to the 2014 corporate CSR policy standards, the firm may record up to 5% of the CSR expenses spent under this program as administrative expenses.

• Applicants who are enrolled in distance learning or online courses may apply, but they must not be full-time students or employees.
• Along with completing your Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent, you must also have a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute or a graduation degree like a BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.

Criteria for Companies

• The Ministry has determined the top 500 corporations by analyzing their average CSR spending over the previous three years.
