Objective Of Bihar Ration Card (EPDS)

The main goal of this Ration Card is to give people access to essentials like sugar, kerosene, and food grains at reduced prices. In order to provide food security for the economically disadvantaged segments of society, the government implemented the Ration Card.

Types Of  Ration Card

  1. Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY): Intended for the most impoverished households, offering 35 kg of food grains monthly at significantly discounted prices.
  2. Below Poverty Line (BPL): Aimed at providing low-income households with access to food grains that are subsidized under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
  3. Above Poverty Line(APL): Providing little to no food grain subsidies to families that are above the poverty threshold.
  4. Priority Household (PHH): Five kilograms of food grains per person per month are provided to households under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
