On 1st April 2025, the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, released the first installment of INR 10,000 to eligible women under MMUA. This first phase of the initiative is designed to act as seed capital to help women engage in productive business activities such as agriculture, tea plantations, handicrafts, and more.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the funds should be strictly used for business purposes. A field verification process will be conducted after one year. If the investment proves to be productive, the beneficiaries will become eligible for:
- Second Installment: ₹25,000 (₹12,500 loan + ₹12,500 govt. grant)
- Third Installment: ₹50,000

Eligibility Criteria Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA) List
To be listed in the MMUA List 2025, female applicants must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be an active member of a Self-Help Group (SHG) under ASRLM.
- Must have an active Aadhaar-linked savings bank account.
- Should not be a defaulter of any financial institution or SHG.
- Must have a clear business plan and be involved in at least one income-generating activity.
- Maximum children limit: Three for General/OBC and Four for ST/SC/Tea Tribe categories.
- Must commit through a Sankalp Patra to restrict children to two if they currently have up to three.
- If she has school-going girl children, they must be enrolled in school.
- Must have participated in the Amrit Brikshya Andolan by planting saplings.
