Dr.Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme:– The Dr. Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme was introduced by the Tamil Nadu government in an attempt to lower the rates of maternal and infant mortality and to give nursing and pregnant women the best nutrition available. Along with Rs. 14,000 in financial assistance, the state government intends to provide pregnant women with nutritional kits that cost Rs. 4,000 and are supplemented by the Amma Nutrition Kit. The annual goal of this maternity program is to assist about 8 lakh expectant and nursing mothers—the Tamil Nadu government’s plan to significantly decrease the state’s rates of maternal and newborn death.

The Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme offers pregnant women who are registered in PICME and have financial requirements access to benefits and high-quality prenatal care. Pregnant mothers can receive up to Rs. 18,000 in monetary assistance from the Tamil Nadu government. Each pregnant woman will get Rs. 4,000 as their first payment.

Objective of Dr.Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme

The main objective of the scheme is to offer maternity care to Tamil Nadu women who are expecting a child. In addition to the equipment, the government would provide the mother with Rs. 14,000 in five payments. The Rs. 4,000 Amma Nutrition Kit comes with twelve basics, including one kilogram of prenatal health mix, three T.albendazole, one kilogram of dates, 500 grams of protein biscuits, 500 grams of Aavin ghee, three T. albendazole, plastic basket and a towel. Tamil Nadu expectant mothers will receive all of these advantages to ensure a healthy and secure pregnancy and birth.
