The Ayushman Bharat Scheme was introduced by the Delhi government in Delhi 2025. The Delhi government has teamed with the Indian central government to administer the Ayushman Bharat project in Delhi which aims to give health insurance coverage to all Delhi residents and enable them to benefit from the scheme. Delhi would become the 35th state or union territory to provide its inhabitants the advantages of the Aayushman Bharat plan once it is put into effect. The Ayushman Bharat initiative would let consumers obtain up to Rs.5 lakh in life insurance coverage.

Ayushman Bharat Scheme

The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) registration procedure was launched by the Delhi government on 10 April 2025. Hospitalization and other medical costs are covered by this Central Government flagship health program, which provides cashless care up to Rs 5 lakh per family annually.

Delhi residents will be able to take use of the Ayushman Bharat scheme’s advantages following its initial introduction. Additionally, the Delhi government has said that it will give an additional Rs.5 lakh to families from homes with unstable finances for a total of Rs.10 lakh in financial assistance.

Objective of Ayushman Bharat Scheme

The main objective of this scheme is to give all Delhi residents access to reasonably priced healthcare. By offering financial aid for medical treatment, residents will be able to access quality medical facilities for their illnesses. Delhi residents will be able to receive treatment at prestigious public or private facilities in the city by using Rs.5 lakh. Since beginning in 2018, the Ayushman Bharat scheme has provided free and reasonably priced healthcare to 50 crore Indian residents.
